KAUST experts in a range of research domains including genomics, Machine Learning, marine science and more, are working with partners around the world to aid in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This portal is a resource to help advance understanding of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, to inform the public about research endeavors launched to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, and to aid in the briefing of decision makers and frontline staff, as well as fellow scientists and engineers.
KAUST R3T

The focus of R3T is to collaborate with and strongly support the Kingdom's healthcare stakeholders to help combat the spread of COVID-19.

KAUST teamed up with a global taskforce called The COVID Compass Taskforce. The taskforce consists of experts in science and technology.

KAUST response

We have moved to online teaching and a remote work paradigm. Our goals have been both alignment with, and leadership of, the Saudi response to COVID-19.

COVID Compass: Navigating the COVID-19 Pandemic Crisis. 
KAUST teamed up with a global taskforce called The COVID Compass Taskforce. The taskforce consists of experts in data science, location intelligence, code, economics, journalism, public policy and media, and it is committed to quickly publishing relevant, relatable and actionable data around the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University's priority is the health and safety of its students, faculty, staff, and community. University leadership are proactively monitoring the path of the growing pandemic and are working closely with various Saudi Ministries, as well as taking all precautions recommended by the World Health Organization.
We have an opportunity, even an obligation, as a university of science and technology, to try to make our contributions to tackle this global crisis. I believe that science has a central role to play in this.
